(NewsNation) — Colby Ryan, the only surviving child of Lori Vallow Daybell, is concerned that the case of missing 9-year-old Melodee Buzzard has too many parallels to the murder of his siblings, Tylee Ryan and JJ Vallow.

Ryan joined "Banfield" on Monday night, 13 days after Buzzard was reported missing by a Lompoc Unified School District administrator.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office released new pictures Friday showing what is believed to be Melodee Buzzard wearing a wig at a car rental business in California on Oct. 7 before leaving the state with her mother.

Her mother, Ashlee Buzzard, returned to California three days later without her daughter, per investigators. An aunt of Melodee Buzzard told NewsNation that she believed the latest pictures could be her niece.

"First of all, it's, it's heartbreaking, and when you see things like this, when it comes to children, it's always extra scary," Ryan told NewsNation.

"The similarities are scary," he said of Buzzard's situation to the murders of his siblings.

"I will personally tell you that I hope that is not the case. I never want to see what happened to my family repeated, but it's hard to hear it, because for me, personally, just too many similarities."

Vallow is serving four life sentences in Idaho after being found guilty in the deaths of her children, Tylee Ryan and JJ Vallow, and conspiracy in the death of her husband’s former wife, Tammy Daybell.

She has also been found guilty of conspiring to kill her estranged husband, Charles Vallow, and her former nephew-in-law.

"It should be very easy to be able to tell anybody where your children are. So I don't have a gut feeling, but I do feel uneasy about it," Ryan said of Melodee Buzzard's unknown whereabouts.
