Mark Sanchez fired from Fox Sports after stabbing incident, felony charge

(NewsNation) — Former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez has been let go from his job at Fox Sports a month after being charged with a felony over an alleged stabbing incident.  

Sanches is no longer with the network, a Fox Sports spokesperson told People Magazine on Friday.

“We can confirm that Mark Sanchez is no longer with the network. There will be no further comment at this time,” the spokesperson said.  

The former New York Jets quarterback was hospitalized when he was allegedly stabbed by a truck driver in downtown Indianapolis on Oct. 4.

The truck driver, Perry Tole, said he was acting in self-defense, claiming that the former Fox News analyst attacked him in an alley.

Following his release, Sanchez was arrested on Oct. 5 and charged with battery resulting in serious bodily injury, a felony, and battery resulting in bodily injury, unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle, and public intoxication that endangers the life of another, all misdemeanors.
