China blames ‘self-serving’ PH politician for scaled-back ASEAN defense presence

China said on Thursday, October 29, it sent only its Manila-based defense attaché to a top regional defense meeting in Cebu because a “self-serving” Philippine politician had abused the country’s chairmanship to block its participation.
