(NewsNation) — An Amber Alert has been issued for a Florida teen, who investigators believe may have been kidnapped.

Caden Speight, 17, was a victim of a shooting, according to law enforcement in Florida's Marion County. An investigation into the shooting began Thursday afternoon.

Speight's car was found in the area, but he was not located, and a text alert referred to him as a "kidnapped child."

Silver Alert declared as Indiana police search for missing 15-year-old

“At this point in the investigation, it’s too soon to know motive or anything like that,” said Zach Moore with the Marion County Sheriff's Office. “We do believe that Caden was the victim of the shooting and it’s our upmost priority right now to find him and make sure he’s OK.”

Officials said it's possible Speight may be in the company of four men, who are possibly Hispanic, and may be traveling in a light-colored van.

Speight is six feet tall, weighs around 150 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a T-shirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information should call 911.
