(NewsNation) — The FBI arrested two men in connection with a weekend explosion at Harvard Medical School, the agency announced.
Logan David Patterson and Dominick Frank Cardoza are facing charges of conspiracy to damage, by means of fire or an explosive, a building owned or possessed by, or leased to, an institution or organization receiving Federal financial assistance, and used in interstate commerce or in any activity affecting interstate commerce.
Officials assured the public that the incident was isolated and there is no continuing risk to the public.
The two Massachusetts men were taken into custody without incident, the FBI said.
Authorities say the men boasted about the incident to their friends and said one of the men attempted to hide evidence that could connect them to the crime.
No one was hurt in Saturday's explosion, which occurred on the fourth floor of a Harvard Medical School building where a research laboratory was located. Officials said on Tuesday they believe a roman candle was the cause.
Images of two suspects were released by investigators in the hopes of identifying the perpetrators.
No motive for the explosion has been determined and the investigation is ongoing.
